Evolving Forms

To introduce y12's to a variety of art themes, this week they have developed their own interpretation of evolving forms. Some interesting examples, I think you'll agree!

James Green Photoshop (printmaking) Artist

Photshop is just another way of layering. Layering was orignally done in print. Here's the artist we have been using for our photoshop images.

Looking close up at different materials can show you a different view of the world. This is an insight into our students' viewpoints of texture using pencil and fine liner.

Vanitas

When looking into art themes, vanitas is an interesting one. A statement made in The Old Testament 'Vanity of Vanities, saith the preacher, all is vanity' (Ecclesiastes 12: 8) still haunts us today. 

The founders of this art form objects have human achievements such as a book and instruments, a skull and lamp all relate to mortality. Our students have produced some interesting research sheets. 

 

Chiaroscuro - Contrasts of Light and Dark

Using a camera, a light, some objects and an SLR, students have been able to record Chiaroscuro images.

Line + Shape + Tone = Form

The first few lessons for y12's are all about learning how to draw using formal elements of art...and a sharp pencil. Have a look at the drawings they have been able to produce.

Hello students, welcome to art and our brand new Sixth Form for the year 2013-2014! 

This year we have exciting projects and trips planned for our year 12 students which will inspire them to create and develop skills they learnt in year 11.
